About me....

Osborne Psychology is run by me, Dr Hannah Osborne PsyD PGCert Bsc (Hons), Consultant Clinical Psychologist. I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist with almost 20 years experience working in the NHS. I completed my professional study and clinical training at Lancaster University in 2009. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a post graduate certificate in Clinical Neuropsychology and I am a certified EMDR therapist.

The majority of my practice has been in the NHS working in health settings. I have also worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS in general hospital settings with adults with a range of emotional and physical health difficulties. This involves supporting individuals with problems arising from acute and persistent physical health symptoms, for example, pain, fatigue, long covid, functional, gastro, cancer, diabetes, weight and neurological symptoms as well as with symptoms that have been difficult to medically explain.

What I can offer

I work holistically to consider the body and mind together and am trained in a variety of therapies to help people to feel better both physically and emotionally ,and to live the life they want to lead. This means that therapy can be tailored to your unique needs and will fit what you want, as opposed to being a one-size fits all approach. All treatments are evidence based and I follow NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) guidelines where they exist.

I have additional training and experience in:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) (EMDR UK accredited training)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Mindfulness based approaches

  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) informed approaches

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training (DBT)

  • Clinical Neuropsychology and assessment of brain injury and dementia

I am registered with the HCPC (Health Professions Council ) and am a member of both the EMDR Association UK and the Association of Clinical Psychologists.

I am approachable, warm and down-to-earth. I understand that taking that first step to get help is hard but believe firmly that with the right support everyone can get back on track.

I am registered with all major health insurance companies and happy to work with you through your insurance (BUPA, WPA, AXA, AVIVA, Vitality).
